Chuck Tomasi is one of the early and go beyond listener numbers and gain listener loyalty with a variety of web tools. Chuck reveals several free and inexpensive ways to get your listeners more involved with your podcast so that you can make a strategic investment in your show and your audience by taking podcasting beyond the MP3 files and an RSS feed.
He first discusses some simple, but effective ways to get more listener involvement. For example, reading listener emails during the podcast helps to make the writer feel a part of the show. In fact, with enough emails, a podcaster can make a show out of emails. In addition, mailing lists and forums related to the podcast will create a place for interested listeners to gather and discuss topics as well as the show itself.
Chuck also talks about more in-depth methods to involve listeners, including live audio and video streams, as well as chat rooms that are active while the show is being recorded. While these tools may seem more complicated, Chuck gives tips that will make the process easier.
Getting listeners involved creates loyalty, loyalty creates disciples, and disciples get the word out about the show to get new listeners. His hints and tricks will help a podcast go deeper and wider.

ChuckChat.com was launched in 2004, soon after podcasts first appeared. On May 1, 2005 the show split into two distinct shows: ChuckChat Freestyle is all about family, fun, news, and interviews. On Technorama Chuck and his co-host Kreg Steppe take a lighthearted look at the geek world. In December 2005 Chuck launched his third podcast aptly titled "Gmail Podcast". Gmail Podcast is a collection of short tips, tricks, and hints to help get the most out of your Gmail account. The concept for the show came when Chuck realized he had been using Gmail for a few months, there were a lot of untapped features, and decided that others might benefit from a podcast as he learns the software. "If you want to know a subject well, teach it." was Chuck's comment. Now thousands listen to, and email Chuck for Gmail support.
